Meet The MIM Team - Marjorie

** Just realised (two days late) that this scheduled post didn't go up**

Hi, welcome to another Meet The MIM Team feature post.

I have really been enjoying this little peek in to the lives of the fabulous Make It Monday Design Team.
This week we get to visit

Marjorie

Hi everyone..It is my turn this week to tell you a little about myself. You might want to get a BIG pot of tea first lol!!  My name is Marjorie and I was so thrilled and nervous when Michelle asked me to join the team as this is my first DT assignment...Michelle has been marvellous, checking that I'm o.k. and giving me lots of reassurance, and has made me feel very welcome. The design team is a fabulous group of girls with so much talent and such a wicked sense of humour, I feel quiet lucky to be part of it all.
I live in South Yorkshire in the U.K. although I do herald from Manchester in Lancashire ..My hubby and I moved to South Africa when we first got married, a new bride of only 6 months, we only went for a couple of years to travel and make some money, and we ended up having both our children there and staying for 30 years!!  Made NO money!!  but met lots of truly wonderful people and have had the most amazing adventures!!   We would probably still be there now if our children hadn't moved away to lands afar lol!!  After my granddaughter was  born we moved back to the U.K. That was just over ten years ago now..Wow! time flies....
I do miss my friends that are still there, as they become your family, also the glorious weather and the space...we had a smallholding, just outside of Cape Town, which was about 10,000 sq metres..with lots of animals, donkeys, ducks, peacocks etc,  and I had a chicken run with around 300 of the little hunnies running around lol!! and of course two lovely dogs, a  terrier Jessie and a border collie called Candy...
My Hubby and I have two children, and two grandchildren.  Our son lives in Germany with his little family, and Deborah and Candice live 2 or 3 minutes away from us in a rural village in South Yorkshire.  I work  at the local news agents part time..(I needed to meet people when we returned, and what better place than a news agents lol!! )  I look after Candice everyday plus our shared little Jack Russell.. Cassy!

Cassy at 6 weeks
Cassy (loves the snow)

Card making is a whole new experience for me and everyday is a learning curve my first love is colouring...didn't know I could do it until a couple of years ago...The girls (Debs and Candice) were colouring images for there cards and I said "Do you mind if I have a try...and as they say the rest is history lol!! I just love it!!  I love my Prisma Pencils, as I find I can control the amount of shading etc better.   I do have arthritis in my fingers and joints, but I think this is a good form of exercise for them.  I do keep having a go with the copics and promarkers. (Me not likky very much though lol!)  I love all forms of card making but my favourite is Girly, flowers, lace pearls etc....I have to work hard at putting my card together as I'm not  very good with design or colour, but I am getting better lol!! practice makes perfect so they say lol!! I love it when I have to follow a sketch...much easier lol!..even choosing paper can be a nightmare lol!!
I love blogging and spend far too much time surfing than doing lol!!  I Have met some really beautiful  people who share there talents so willingly... I have learnt such a lot from all you wonderful crafters out there!!...I also love the craft fairs I get so excited, and can't wait until the day is here!! (sad hey!

Will leave you with a few photos of the surrounding area of where I live, we all love to walk, so go to places where we can take Cassy.

Hi

It's another beautiful day in paradise here and my boys are on two weeks school holidays!!

My youngest son's teacher was leaving at the end of the term so I wanted to make her a little gift.

So I decided for my

I found the tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers here.

I was going to take individual photos of the cards and tags but  forgot before I gave the gift away

(doh! slaps forehead)

All papers and stamps are from Stampin' Up!

This week we are being sponsored by the lovely Mandy of Cupcake Cards and Craft who creates gorgeous digi paper collections and kits!  Mandy is offering the lucky random winner 3 downloadable paper collections!

A Word From My Sponsor - Stamping Shanni

Gotta love Stampin' Up! Australia!

Stampin' Up! is hosting an amazing promotion until the end of July - We {Heart} Hostesses!*. This is a time for hostesses across Australia to bask in the glory of holding an in-home workshop or party for their local demonstrator. . . when workshop sales reach $650, the Hostess receives an additional $90 to spend.

The additional $90 is on top of the usual exclusive $100 and half price item which the Hostess would usually receive.  So this means that the Hostess stands to benefit BIG TIME!  I love this promotion because it means that I can make sure that my hostesses truly get rewarded for their support.

I have had several workshops already this month and know that my hostesses are loving the promotion and I am enjoying sharing the love of all things Stampin' Up! with them and their friends.

So I am looking for workshop bookings for July and would love to share this opportunity with paper crafters, card makers and scrap bookers in my local area.

If you are not in the Cairns area don't feel despondent, I am happy to arrange a "Catalogue Celebration" with you to mark this event.  That means that I will post you a current Ideas Book & Catalogue (and mini), you collect orders (of at least $650) and tell me how you want to spend your $200 and what you would like to purchase as your half price item.  I will arrange for the Stampin' Up! package to be posted direct to you along with a make and take and example for each customer who places an order!

If you have been thinking of having a gathering for a while, then now is the time to act.  Don't hesitate, contact me today to arrange a time for your party.

Sharing the love
Shanni xx

* this promotion is only available to residents of Australia, I apologise to anyone who is inconvenienced by this restriction.

Meet The MIM Team - Meihsia

Hi Welcome to another Meet The MIM Team feature.

This week we get to know Meihsia a little better.

____________________

Hi, my name is Meihsia Liu. I am so happy to join MIM DT
and here I'm sharing something about myself.

My husband and I live in Plano, Texas, a city near Dallas.
We have a 9-year-old daughter and a 8-year-old son.
I spend most of my time with kids as a stay home mom
and school volunteer.

I also enjoy kids' Boy Scout and Girl Scout activities and traveling.

I love drawing, painting and sewing since I was little,
 and just started papercrafting
last summer but didn't "play it seriously" until
I joined some DTs in the beginning of this year.

I always consider myself is new to the papercraft world,
so I like to try differen/new techniques, styles and materials of art and crafts.
Basically, I just like all kinds of crafts as long as it's easy and fun.

These are some fun projects I play with kids.
kids craft - friendship bracelets

Sometimes I do mixed media painting.

Tim Holtz's techniques are also my favorite.

I am so happy to join the party with
all talented MIM DT ladies and all you wonderful players.
Hope you all enjoy the party, too... :)

Love & Hugs... Meihsia

Thank you for sharing a little more about yourself Meihsia.

You sure do like to keep yourself busy!

I am a huge fan of your projects and loved hearing about some of your other creative hobbies (love that little doll!).

Meet The MIM Team - Lisa

Hi

So glad you came by today.

Today for the weekly Meet The MIM Team feature we are visiting the

wonderfully witty and terrifically talented Lisa

I am so happy to have this wonderful opportunity to 'meet' you all here at Pink Paper Paradise. Thank you Michelle for allowing us to share a little bit about ourselves.   I wish I had something riveting to share with you, but I'm a rather simple gal from the Midwest, but here goes anyway. :)
Here I am as a pretty convincing Avatar, don't you think?

First off, my name is Lisa and I go by many nicknames (IE.. Bird, Twang, Quirks, Mom, 'excuse me, lady with the glitter on her butt', etc...)  I currently reside in Knob Noster, Missouri...home of the B-2 Bomber.  I'm married to a military fire fighter who is currently serving overseas and while he is away, I'm at home taking care of our two teenagers who will BOTH be driving here shortly...that's not scary at all!!! EEEK...

This is it...the huge town!

I had the amazing opportunity to join Make It Monday over a year ago and I never knew that it was going to be THIS much fun to work with such a diverse group of hysterically funny and outstandingly creative ladies.  It's like having an extended family and everyone who joins in the DT or participates in the linky parties are always treated with such warmth and acceptance.  A truly wonderful crafting blog with talent that comes from all around the world...I feel blessed to be a part of it!

I recently stepped down from a few other DT positions, all of which are AMAZING, but I had the best time working with more talented ladies at Karen's Doodles, The Squirrel & The Fox, Stamper's Quest and Craft Us Crazy.  Currently I DT at Make It Monday, Top Tip Tuesday and Nicecrane Designs.  I couldn't ask for better challenge blogs, but the reason I stepped down was to make more room for my latest hobby of refinishing furniture.  I have slowly collected a garage of this n' that and I hope to 'update' these items on a more permanent basis.  It's sad to say goodbye to things you love to do, but it's always so much fun to venture out and try new things too.  Other favorite hobbies of mine are cooking, speed walking, picking up after my children, laughing, naming the dust bunnies in my house, drawing, and spending time with my family.
A few of my furniture projects awaiting...

What would my style of stamping be????  Well that all depends on the amount of coffee I started my morning off with.  Too much coffee and the world is my template, too little coffee and I can barely finish a Clean and Simple card.  I tend to be eclectic in my crafting and always admiring new styles, techniques and textures.  I can't be specific on this answer as I find the card and or the image lead me where they want to go and basically I'm just the hands for it's journey.

Where do I do my crafting???  I like to refer to it as my 'nook.'  All my work is done on a little desk that I found at a Thrift Store for $10.  The table is completely rickety and wobbles uncontrollably, but I LOVE my little cheap find.  I can't foresee me changing it anytime soon; unless of course it collapses on me midway through a project, then perhaps if wood glue and duct tape can't fix it, I'll get something new.  I've accessorized my desk with a lovely TV tray as well that hosts my sewing machine when needed.  Yes, it's true, I live a glamorous life...don't be jealous...Ha!

What are my favorite supplies???  Anything and everything...I'm not picky. I'll look at an item over and over and find different ways to use it.  If you stuck me in a corner with a bottle of glue, a shoe lace and a stapler...I think I could be happy for hours!

Well, I think I've rambled on enough...I don't want anyone nodding off, but I'd just like to say,
THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH for all your participation in making Make It Monday what it is.  This opportunity of fabulous learning, inspiration, sharing and friendship would NOT be possible without the amazing crafters out there, all around the world, joining in to create such a truly fun and memorable stamping blog!

OK, I'm really done now...you can wake up :)
Hugs and Happy Stamping...
Lisa
You Made Me Ink!

Thank you Lisa, what a fabulous post.
I love having you on the team and I know you don't believe me when I tell you your hometown looks like paradise to Hubby and I, lol.

If you haven't already (I can't image why you wouldn't have) head on over to visit Lisa.
She is always extremely entertaining and always inspiring.
