Sunny Day Flower

.
Hi

Just a simple little card today.

I recently stumbled across some really gorgeous digital images by Meljen's Designs over at Whimsy Stamps and I sat down last night and coloured up this sweet little flower called "Sunny Day Flower".

I just love this flower, it is just so bright and happy!

I printed it twice and coloured the face and first row of petals on the second image and cut it out and popped it up on top the first image with dimentionals.

I don't have any green Copics yet so I used blue and yellow to colour the leaves. I love the way you can mix colours with Copics.

I'm linking this card to the following challenges:

Mad For Markers - Colour in a digital image with your Copics
Pollycraft Monday Challenge - No Designer Paper
Creative Card Crew - Flowers
Allsorts - Plain and Simple

Copics used to colour this image:
Leaves - B93 and Y13
Petals - R85, R83 and R81
Face - YR68,YR65, and YR61
Shading - Y11

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a wonderful day.

Make It Monday #4

Hi

I know for a lot of people Monday's not their best day of the week but I really like them.

After a chaotic weekend of family time, jobs around the house are usually building up to the point where I begin to wonder if I haven't passed the point of no return as far as housework is concerned. I like to spend my time on the weekend just hanging out with DH and our boys. I made the executive decision years ago that if everyone else can take the weekend off work and or school then I could have the weekends off too! But I like Mondays because that is the day I get to make order of the chaos created by my "weekend off".

And now of course I have another reason to like Mondays. "Make It Monday" is the weekly linky party I have created for people to link up their favourite creations. Can be new or old, card, scrapbook page or altered item, anything at all. Just link up your project (see top of my blog) and share the creativity. It's a great way to find new blogs to visit and get fresh inspiration. And who knows, you may even make a new blog buddy or two!

So head on over there now and have a browse around and say hi from me while you're there.

My Make It Monday linky party is open again so link up your creations at the top of my blog and be sure to pay a visit to the other blogs that have linked up and leave them a comment. Hi

I have some exciting news to share with you all today!

Mad For Markers are currenlty looking for some new Design Team members and 2 Guest Designers too.

You can head on over to the Mad For Markers blog to get all the details.

They have asked for us to show our favourite/ best coloured Copic Creations.

So here are mine.

First up is a card I created especially for this Design Team Call.

This digi image is from Whimsy Stamps and is called Fancy Flower Pony.

Now I have only been using Copics for a few months after I received a few basic colours for my 40th Birthday back in June from my wonderful Husband. Little did he know it would develop in to a full blown addiction in no time flat. I now have about 30 colours and a huge wish list for more.

Here are some my favourite cards I have made using Copics.

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge #11 - Stitch It

Woo Hoo it's school holidays YAY!!

I absolutely love school holidays!
My boys are on two weeks spring break now and we have lots of fun activities planned but most importantly I am just so happy not to have to drive in and out of town every day for the school run. No getting up early to pack lunches etc  (well, I do still have to pack Hubby's lunch during the second week as he is only taking the first week off work).

I'm really hoping too that my Mojo might actually make an appearance this school holidays.

I do have a card for you today though, for Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge. Team B's turn this week to inspire you with our cards. We want to see some stitching this week be it real or faux. (Mine is definitely faux as I don't exactly have a great working relationship with my sewing machine!).

I have used Bodacious Bev on my card and I have coloured her and the flowers with my Copics.

I hand drew and cut out the hinges for the side of the card from black cardstock.

Hop on over to the Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge Blog and check out the rest of Team B's fabulous cards.

Remember that if you use one of Kenny's awesome images on your card you will be in the running to win some free digi's.

I look forward to stopping by and checking out your fabulous creations.

I am linking my card up to the following challenges:

Sarah Hurley Challenge  - Polka Dots and Circles
Stamp Something - September Digi Day challenge
Secret Crafter - Anything Goes
Creative Inspirations - Pink and Black

Remember also that my "Make It Monday" linky party (see top of my blog) starts again tomorrow and you will be able to link your cards up there too.

Have a great day!

Make It Monday #2

.
Hi

Happy Monday to you all!

I have just had the best couple of days.

My brother who I have not seen for over 15 years arrived at my place with his family on Friday night. There was a big hug and lots of tears I can tell you. My boys have really enjoyed getting to know their cousins and we have all loved meeting my brother's wonderful girlfriend and we are so grateful to her as she was the one who organised this reunion.

I want to thank all the wonderful people who joined in my first "Make It Monday" last week. They were all wonderful creations and I had a terrible time to trying to choose one to feature this week so in the end I decided I would leave it up to Random.org.

and that is

Dawn from Dawn's Craft Place with this layout.

This is a really fabulous layout don't you think?

Scrapbooking is something I have been wanting to get in to since my first son was born over 7 years ago but as yet I have not even started!

Dawn has been posting a lot of wonderful layouts lately.

I think she has done a beautiful job of capturing the atmosphere of her daughters cruise with the way she has presented the photos in this layout and I always love handwritten journaling on scrapbook pages. I think it adds a very personal touch.

Pop on over to Dawns blog and have a browse. There are a lot of really beautiful layouts and cards too.

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge #10 - Embossing

.
Hi

Woo Hoo, challenge time again over at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge blog. Team A is on the job this week and the challenge is - Embossing.

So many fabulous entries again last week. Glad its not up to me to pick the winners!!

Kenny's images are just so much fun to colour up I just couldn't resist playing along this week.

For my card I have used "Vikki Lee Vicious".

Flowers are coloured with copics and I have used a silver embossing powder for the flourishes. Silver brads are in the centre of the flowers as well as on the turned corners.

Even though I am still learning how to colour with the black and gray Copics I am really happy with how this card turned out.

Head on over to Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge Blog and see Team A's gorgeous cards for some awesome inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by.

Dusting Off Tilda

.
Hi

A while ago I was so excited to get my very first Tilda stamp. I had been wanting her for so long. I barely got in the door before I was tearing open the envelope and racing down to my craftroom to ink her up.

Well, since then of course other things have come up, new images to play with etc etc and poor Tilda has been sitting there on my stamp shelf looking all forlorn wondering why I dont love her anymore............. Please tell me I'm not the only one guilty of this kind of neglectfulness.

I do of course, still love her that is. What is there not to love about the super sweet Tilda images after all.

I decided to show her a little love today and came up with this friendship card.

Tilda is coloured with Copics as are the flowers. I also gave the flowers a spritz of Glimmer Mist.

Papers are all from Stampin Up! (retired now I believe).

I am linking my card up with the following challenges:

I also want to remind you all that you still have a few days to link up your creations to my new weekly Linky Party "Make It Monday".

This is not a challenge, there is no theme to follow, simply link up your creation be it a card, scrapbook page or altered item, anything really. It doesn't even need to be a new creation. Want to revive and old post from way back? Then link it up so everyone can come on over and check it out.

You can submit as many creations as you like. It's all about sharing the creativity and inspiring others.

Just remember to Link back to the actual post not just your general blog link and also add a link back to here so others can join in the fun.

Click here to submit your creation.

Have a wonderful day everyone!!

New Linky Party - Make It Monday

.

Hi

Oh dear, the weather continues to be wet and horrible here. They are predicting an early start to our tropical wet season, oh joy, oh fun.

There is an upside to this dreary weather though and that is it's perfect for blog surfing. Wow, does the time ever vanish when you are lost in blog world viewing all the marvelous creativity that is out there!

One of my blogging buddies and fellow Paper Cubed Design Team member Lorrinda from Isn't That Sweet
posted a ingenious idea on her blog on Saturday. She found herself without the exact colour of Flower Soft she required to finish a totally awesome card she was working on and managed to come up with an alternative for it from scraps she had on hand.

Here is Lorrinda's card

Gorgeous right?!

Can you guess which tree is not made using Flower Soft? I certainly couldn't.

Lorrinda, being the clever little chicken that she is, came up with an alternative she calls Fuzzy Fluff.

Check out the post on her blog here to see just how she did it.

Now coming across fabulous ideas like this one has to be one of the things I love most about blog surfing. There is just so much creativity and inspiration to be found out there.

So I decided that I would like to create a weekly Linky Party where you can all link up your fabulous creations to share with everyone.

Now it's not a challenge, no theme to follow or anything.  Just link up your creation, tips or tutorials, what ever it may be at the top of my blog so that others can come and visit your blog.

I have created a Linky Party button that you can grab from my sidebar if you like.

Make sure that you link up using a direct link to the particular post not just your blog and if you could please  link back here so that others can find it too.

I will be picking my favourites from those that are linked up to feature on my blog the following week. Maybe I will even get around to creating a "I was featured on" button too!!

Thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing your creations.

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge #9 - Pearls & Swirls

.
Hi

I'm on a roll this week, three cards in one week. Well, truth be told some of the cards have been made in advance for the challenges because I thought I was going to be away for a while and the posts have been scheduled. But boy, it does feel good to be organised!

Challenge time again at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz challenge blog. It is amazing how many gorgeous entries we are getting week after week. You guys rock!! Keep those cards coming!!

For this weeks challenge we would love to see Pearls and Swirls on your creations.

For my card I have used "Delores D'ammage"

Papers are free from crafting magazine and the flowers have been coloured with Copics.

Hop on over to Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge Blog to see the rest of Design Team B's incredible cards to get you all inspired. Then get creating, because I'll be over to check out your blogs and see what amazing cards you have come up with.

Link your card up and remember to use one of Kenny's fantastic images to be entered in to the prize draw.

Thanks for stopping by.

Father's Day

Happy Friday everyone!!

The weather is beautiful today, but lots of rain is forcast for the weekend. Bit of a downer really considering Sunday is Father's Day.

My boys have a plan for what they are doing for/with their Dad on Sunday. They want to set up the outdoor table and chairs on our veranda and make a little cafe and serve breakfast to him out there. Oh why do they have to grow up, they are so cute at this age (4, 6 and 7)!

I had planned to make a card for my Dad when I was down in Adelaide visiting my parents. I was so looking forward to playing in my Mum's well stocked craft room. Now that the holiday has been postponed I realised that I was going to be late getting a card to my Dad :-(. Still, better late than never, right?

This is the card I have made for him.

Completely put together with scraps from my ever growing collection. The image was stamped over a year ago and has been in my bag of stamped images ever since.

For some reason, cards for men are always so difficult for me. I'm not sure if it is due to a lack of papers and embellishments or just that they seem so unfinised without the flowers and bling I am so fond of (not to mention the pink!).

I hope you all have an absolutely fantastic weekend!

Thanks for stopping by.

Skateboard Boy

.
Hi

Wow, two posts in two days!! It's been a long time since that's happened. I've been so pre-occupied that I even missed my 100th post milestone.

My sick little guy is such a trooper, still smiling through his spots!! Lucky for him (and me) his case of chicken pox is mild. Thank you to all my sweet blogging friends that have emailed with kind messages.

I'm still feeling a bit disapointed at having to reschedule my trip to Adelaide to see my family. My second son who I was taking with me is being so good about it though. I have promised him we will rebook it as soon as possible.
On a positive note though, one of my brothers we were going to be catching up with down there for the first time in 15 years is going to come up here to visit us!! He is bringing his two boys and his new girlfriend. It will be the first time he has met my husband and my boys. So we are all very excited about that. They arrive on the 10th sept and are staying for a week. YAY!!

Anyway, enough about me and more about today's card!

I was meant to be working on a couple of Father's Day cards but I decided to use this image from Kenny K called "Skateboard Boy" that I have had coloured up for weeks now.

I have real shortage of papers and embellishments for boy/men cards and seeing as how I can't get out to the shops with my little guy covered in spots, I decided to get creative with my Copics and create the stars and stripes background papers.

I used an outline of stars stamp from the "Starring You" stamp set from Stampin Up! and just coloured around them. The sentiment is from"Kaszazz.

I hope you are all having a fabulous day!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Paper Cubed (P3) September Challenge

.
Hi

Here it is 1st September and I am supposed to be in Adelaide visiting my parents who I haven't seen in a couple of years and catching up with my brothers I haven't seen for over 15 years. But sadly all my plans fell apart at the last minute when my youngest son came down with Chicken Pox yesterday!

I never expected it, seeing as how my boys are vaccinated, but there you go hey. Never mind, I'm hoping to get some vouchers from the airline so that I can reschedule my little trip for another time in the near future.

But it's not all doom and gloom.

Being the first of the month means it's time for another challenge over at Paper Cubed (P3) . This month the challenge is to make a bookmark.

Now simple as it is, I really enjoyed making this little book mark.

I found the technique here

It took all of 10 minutes to make and was a great use for scraps.

Flower is actually cut from a roller stamp coloured with Copics and the text is the end bit of an old rub on I have had sitting around for ages.

Hop on over to Paper Cubed (P3) challenge blog and check out the gorgeous creations from the rest of the design team for some incredible inspiration. You have a month to make yours and get it linked up to be in the running to win this months prize.

Thanks for stopping by.
