I think I have been bitten by the candle stamping bug! So quick and easy to do and so much fun!
This set is made using the Live Like You Mean It stamp set from SU and a two step small frangipani stamp from Kaszazz.

DSP is Washington Apple , cardstock is Cameo Coral  both from SU.

I have used Rose Red, Summer Sun and Cameo Coral inks from SU. Pink Frangipani was first stamped with Cameo Coral then the outline was stamped with Rose Red.

Ribbon is Old Olive from SU. I have also used three green rhinestones.

A Candle To Brighten Things Up

Gosh, this week went fast! Last week of the school holidays always does I guess.

Australia Day tomorrow so I will have to make the most of my last day off before once again spending a large portion of my day with my backside planted firmly in the drivers seat doing school drop offs and pick ups. Probably the thing I dislike the most in the tropical wet season apart from Cyclones of course!

With this drudgery of the daily grind in front of me, I wanted to make something bright and cheery. This is what I came up with.

I have seen so many wonderful candles and tutorials for them and I'm glad now that I have given it a try. It wont be my last that's for sure!

I will be making a few more to put on our JeMbellish website, pop on over and check out the store at http://www.jembellish.com/. Sign up to the mailing list and you will receive a free gift when we celebrate out first birthday next month!

You can follow the story of our endeavor to create a business for ourselves so that we can stay home to look after our Children on our JeMbellish Blog

All Things Girly and Pretty

I love all things girly and pretty so I was excited to have a go and making something for this months Dirty Dozen / Fan Club monthly challenge.

This months Central Theme challenge (CT0110) was to get in touch with your inner girl and make something feminine and pretty.

I just love the images from Mo's Digital Pencil and this one "End of Summer" really caught my eye.

Image is coloured Lyra Water Colour Crayons. I used Pink Passion and Pink Pirouette cardstock from SU, not sure where the pale yellow cardstock is from.

Ways To Use It Challenge

I really enjoy the challenges over at SCS. This one (WT253) had me scratching around to find a stamp with a bird on it! Finally found one after a while, haven't used it before and I can't tell where it is from either sorry.

Image was coloured with Lyra water colour crayons and the CS is Kiwi Kiss and Pink Pirouett both from SU. The chocolate coloured cardstock is from an A3 sheet from my local craft store.

Baby Cards

I realised on Saturday at our market stall that I have sold out of my baby girl cards so before I start work on Valentines I thought I had better get a few made in time for our next stall.

Don't for get to pop over to our website at http://www.jembellish.com/ and see what's new. We hope to have Paypal and shopping cart up and running next month to help stream line our orders both in Australia and Internationally.

Here are a couple of the baby girl cards I have made so far.

This gorgeous image is from Squigglefly.com

This is the first time I have used a digital stamp. I fell in love with image straight away. Baby elephant is coloured with Lyra Water Colour Crayons. Paper is SU DSP.

This stamp is actually a cheapie from the $2 shop. I think it is actually a child's stamp. The image is stamped and coloured with SU Pink Passion.  I have added a little glitter to her spots. Sentiment is from SU.

Sketch Challenge SC263

Hi

It was such a lovely sketch for this weeks challenge over at SCS that I thought I would have a go.

This image is from one of the first stamp sets I was ever given but it is the first time I have used it. I used Lyra Water Colour Crayons to colour.

The cardstock is Pink Pirouette from SU. I have had th DP so long I don't remember where that is from.

It is hard to tell in the photo but the top half of the card (lace edge up) is on foam dimensionals as is the scolloped sentiment.

Message Board

Hi

It has been a very rainy couple of days here and the boys have been very restless and requiring loads of attention to keep them from getting at each other out of boredom and frustration so there hasn't been a lot of crafting going on. I usually only do my crafting at night time anyways but during the holidays, especially when DH was home on holidays too, I managed to sneak a few projects in during the day.

I decided to try to make something a little different this time. I set myself the task of trying to come up with something useful and practical to add to our range of products we sell at http://www.jembellish.com/ .

This white board is about A4 size made from laminated A4 copy paper. There is thick cardboard behind to give it strength and it is covered front and back with cardstock. I have hand drawn the stitching with white gel pen. The flowers were punched from cardstock and accentuated with rhinestones. I'm not sure where the craft wood character is from but I added some glitter to her to make her "Pop" a bit. The whole piece (except the whiteboard part) is coated with Modge Podge. There is a strip of magnet on the back so that it can be placed on the fridge.

The Butterfly is back

Well, it's official, I am addicted to Butterflies in case you hadn't already figured that out. At first I thought it was a passing phase but it would seem it is a permanent affliction. Still, you have to admit, they are beautiful.
I guess I will just have to try my hand at another challenge soon to add some diversity to this blog!

But for now here is a card I made last night. It does not have any sentiment as I felt this card was suitable to use for many occassions.

For this card I used SU Old Olive CS and SU Bella Rose DSP. To create the ring of flowers I combined the SU Great Friend set and a few clear stamps from Kelly Panacci. The Butterfly is from the SU Great Friend set also.

Back to School

The excitement of Christmas is over now and the house has settled back to normal. The boys are enjoying their presents from Santa, Grandparents and us and that should keep the boredom at bay till the end of the school holidays.Christmas is always a nice time of year but it is also nice when it's finished too.

Now its time to start thinking about Back to School.

My friend Jill and I have our monthly market stall coming up this Saturday (9th January).for those of you who are not in the area on the day you can always order any of our lines from our website. http://www.jembellish.com/ . Check out the website to see what the wonderful things  Jill has made. there are beautiful hats and backpacks, furry pencil cases and of course the ever popular JeMs.

I have been busy making notebooks and pencil packs. And I have also made some Brag Boards which you will see below (not paper craft but still gorgeous).

These girls notebook and pencils gift packs were made using Pink Pirouette and Pink Passion carstock from Stampin-Up. Stamped images are from Kaszazz.

This boys notebook and pencils gift pack (see more designs on our website) was made using  Baja Breeze, Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango cardstock from Stampin-Up and the stamped images are from Stampit.

I hand bind the notebooks with co-ordinating ribbon.

You can also order a personalised Brag Board from our website (or come and see us on market stall day).
These Brag Board made from 45cm x 45cm x 1.8cm canvas and are ready to hang. They are a wonderful way to display your child's school and or sporting achievments.
